For work I often have to record one to two minute movie clips to use in presentations. It’s way too time consuming to record the whole DVD then import it into iMovie, clip the section I need, and then re-encode it.
Hey guys! It’s time for hackaddict to get another face lift. I’ve been getting a lot of comments about it being too hard to read with the dark background. People were also saying the site was “too busy” so please let me know if this new layout is more friendly.
Youtube is a great service minus the fact that you cannot download the videos (damn copyright laws). This problem was once fixed with a Firefox plugin, but the plugin downloaded the files into a .flv extension file which would then have to be converted into another more usable video format.
I have to admit, I had high expectations for the Pandora ATL meetup and I was not disappointed. After introducing himself Tim dove right into the good stuff by explaining that the meetups began about a year ago with the first one in New York and had only two attendants. The meetups have since grown exponentially and are actually where Tim gets a lot of ideas for improving Pandora’s service.

I have a had a mac for a while now, but it was not until the other day that I figured out how to make zip files. It’s actually super easy and the archive function is built right into the os. Simply right click on the file you want to zip and select “Create an Archive of ….”
I recently visited Adafruit Lasers in New York (if you’re in the area and need a piece of electronic equipment engraved definitely check them out) where I was fortunate enough to meet Phillip Torrone of the Make Blog: Makezine and get a hold of one his metal business cards. I was very impressed by the card and immediately knew that I needed some of my own.
